Team Liquid has officially confirmed the departure of Marcus 'Ace' Hoelgaard after one year with the organization. The Norwegian offlaner joined Liquid in October 2026 alongside tOfu from Gaimin Gladiators. During his tenure, Ace helped Liquid secure two titles (BLAST Slam VI and 1win Series Essence II) along with multiple top-4 finishes at major events. However, the team underperformed at TI 2026 in Shanghai, finishing 5th-6th after a 0-2 loss to eventual champions Team Spirit in the lower bracket quarterfinals. According to sources from Cyberscore, Jordanian offlaner Ammar 'ATF' Al-Assaf from the disbanded Team Falcons is rumored as Ace's replacement, though Liquid has not officially confirmed the signing. The move represents a like-for-like role replacement, not a full roster overhaul.
