|| June Goals ||

|| June Goals ||

I slacked off on posting my monthly goals because I took somewhat of a blogging break earlier this year.  I needed to focus on teaching and my full-time job, and I didn't have a lot of time for blogging.  Now that I am on summer break, I thought I'd resume with my monthly goals.

1.  Figure out what's wrong with me!
For several months I've been having some weird symptoms - extreme fatigue, headaches, heart skipping beats, general weakness, mild anxiety.  I finally got in to see a doctor and she is doing tons of tests and will hopefully find out what's wrong.  The symptoms are similar to the ones I had 4 years ago (when I took a break from grad-school and started this blog), but they are a little bit different.  The fatigue is the worst symptoms I'm having right now.

2.  Continue with my blogging schedule.
I've planned out the next 3-4 weeks for my blog, so hopefully I'll be able to stick with it and post regularly!

3.  Make a budget for our next big purchases.
I really want/need a piano, and Peter really wants a nice DSLR camera.  We really need to create a budget and stick to it in order to purchase those big-ticket items.

4.  Photo album of our wedding.
I go back and forth on whether or not I want to order a photo book or print individual photos and make an album/scrapbook myself.  I really can't decide!!!  But it's been almost 2 years and we have no album yet, so I really need to get on that!

What are your June goals?

5 weeks...

5 weeks... without internet at my house.

An excellent time to connect with my husband, get housework done, read books, relax, chill, and unplug?

...

No.

Annoying, boring, and horrible is more like it.
Used up my phone's high speed connected within a few days.
Couldn't get work done, couldn't research for my class, couldn't watch Netflix or Hulu...

"First world problems" all around!

This weekend, give your router a hug and say, "Thanks."

Now that I have mine back, I am never letting it go again.

I actually have some blog posts planned, now that my internet is back!  See you soon, friends!

Blogtober 2014 Day 1

I decided to follow the #blogtober14 prompts for this month.  I thought they were interesting prompts and it takes the pressure off a little bit of thinking of interesting things to post about.  I don't like to post just for the sake of posting, so my blog tends to be neglected when I don't have any good ideas.

Even though I still have more Rio pictures to share, some heart-felt essays already typed up, and some other post ideas sitting in my drafts, I can't bring myself to drum up the emotional stamina needed to go back in and post them.  I'm in a weird place, emotionally, right now and especially when I think about the year in Rio, so I don't really want to post those particular posts quite yet.  Hopefully someday I'll be ready.  I hope that makes sense.  Anyway, on to the prompts!

October 1st: If you won the lottery you'd...

First of all I'd pay off all of my students loans and pay off the rest of my parents' debt.  If there was any leftover I'd take a trip to Europe with Peter.  Then if there was still any leftover I'd like to help my siblings and close friends out with any financial issues they might be having.  We also have a bunch of friends who are missionaries who could really use our support, and I'd really like to sponsor another child through Compassion again (had to cancel last year, after 8 years, because we couldn't afford it.  So sad.)

So, what would YOU do if you won the lottery?

Are you following along with #blogtober14?  If so, please leave me links to your posts!

XO,

Julie
